Twice as Nice Comedy is delighted to team up with 606 Club in Chelsea to provide a night of great music and comedy! 606 Club, one of London’s iconic live music venues, introduces a fresh blend of comedy and jazz to London audiences on May 8 2014. The night – the first of an ongoing series – features one of the UK’s up-and-coming comedy “It Girls” Vikki Stone, sharing the bill with brilliant jazz pianist & composer Tom Cawley and his quartet.
Vikki Stone, who trained at the Royal Academy of Music, builds upon this alchemy with a thoroughly modern twist. Her debut Edinburgh Show, “Big Neon Letters”, played to sell-out audiences both in Edinburgh and London’s Soho Theatre, and received critical acclaim including The Observer’s Comedy Top 5 Edinburgh Shows 2011. Stone’s follow up, “Hot Mess”, sold out its entire run at the Edinburgh Fringe 2012, adding four extra shows due to phenomenal public demand. Her TV appearances include ‘I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here’ ‘That Sunday Night Show’ and ‘This Morning’ (ITV1). ‘Richard Hammond’s Secret Service’ (BBC1). ‘Most Annoying People’ and ‘Britain in Bed’ (BBC3). ‘The Hilary Devey Story’ (BBC2). ‘Flash Prank ‘(MTV), ‘The Hour’ (STV), ‘Greatest Ever 3D Moments’ (Channel 4)
Tom Cawley is a former “Young Jazz Musician of the Year” who has appeared on the “Culture Show”, made numerous live BBC Radio 3 broadcasts and has been featured on the covers of both Jazz UK and Jazzwise. These impeccable jazz credentials are matched by his onstage charm, which will be put to good use in this context.
Both Tom and Vikki will perform their own sets before sharing the stage for the remainder of the show, where the spirit of collaboration and improvisation will roam free.
