The Pearl Izumi Tour Series

Fast paced, action packed cycling returns to Canary Wharf this June with The Pearl Izumi Tour Series on Thursday 5th June. The Pearl Izumi Tour Series returns for the fifth year, with Britain’s top domestic cyclists racing in what is the fastest event on the Series calendar around Canary Wharf’s iconic 1.1-kilometre circuit.

Olympic Champion Ed Clancy will be amongst those competing, as seeks to avenge his narrow defeat by Chris Opie in last year’s Canary Wharf event. But crucially it is team performance that matters in the unique Series, with five world level UCI squads competing, including Clancy’s Rapha Condor JLT and the newly formed NFTO team, who include Adam Blythe and the Downing brothers.

And all of the action will be screened on ITV4 on Friday 6th June in a one-hour highlights show.

Ahead of the professional race there will also be the fun of the ProAm Canary Wharf Corporate Grand Prix, as teams from some of Canary Wharf’s most famous tenants battle it out on the same circuit as the professionals. With each team anchored by a Pro rider, the chance for glory will hinge upon the performance of their five teammates, all of whom will be aiming to follow in the wheel tracks of previous winners such as Barclays Capital and Thomson Reuters.
