The annual Barnes Fair, organised by local charity Barnes Community Association (BCA), is celebrating its Ruby year with a 40th anniversary theme. This theme will be reflected throughout this year’s event from the Grand Parade, the Inter-Schools Quiz and some 1940’s music on the Bandstand. The Fair set in the beauty of Barnes Green will take place on the 12th July and host some 300 stalls selling everything from cakes, plants and books to vintage and designer clothing as well as a host of other attractions, catering for every age and taste.
The Mayor of Richmond upon Thames will declare the Fair officially open when she judges this year’s Grand Parade which will feature vintage vehicle and floats decorated by local schools and community groups all using the theme of ‘40’. Activities and entertainment continue throughout the day and include live music from local bands, fairground rides, singing and dance shows put on by local children, as well as a wonderful selection of food and drink provided by Barnes restaurants.
