Renowned for delectable Pan-Asian cuisine, critically acclaimed restaurant Gilgamesh in Camden have recreated some of the most loved dishes from the a la carte menu with ‘Mock Duck’ for National Vegetarian Week. A popular meat substitute, ‘Mock Duck’ is suitable for vegetarians and those looking for an alternative option to traditional duck.

Gilgamesh have incorporated this tasty alternative into three of their signature dishes; Duck and Watermelon Salad; a fresh salad made with crispy mock duck, cashew nuts, mint and Thai basil, a Duck Spring Roll made with shredded mock duck, cucumber and spring onion served with hoisin sauce, and Shredded Duck and Pancakes; shredded mock duck and cucumber served with homemade pancakes and hoisin or chilli hoisin sauce.

Made from wheat gluten, ‘Mock Duck’ is the perfect alternative to traditional duck. It is high in protein and also imitates the look and texture of shredded duck to offer a genuine alternative. The new ‘Mock Duck’ dishes use the finest ingredients and have been prepared by the Gilgamesh kitchen to showcase all that vegetarian Pan-Asian cuisine has to offer.

National Vegetarian Week runs from Monday 19th until Sunday 25th May. The Week is all about going vegetarian, discovering delicious new foods and realising that your favourites can be made meat-free and fuss-free.
