Designer Fashion Sale

This is just a little heads up about the Pimlico based ‘CapitalCarboot’ sale. Described by Timeout in January 2013 as: ‘the salubrious central London location of this event means shoppers are willing to part with a fair amount of cash in return for quality vintage and high-end clothing. Retro garb is especially popular here’ and ES magazine in September 2011: ‘if you have an eye for a bargain, head to Pimlico for the chicest of car boot sales. Capital Carboot attracts a young crowd, many dealing in vintage fashion and collectables. The word on the street is that cast off Isabel Marant and Mulberry items have been picked up here in recent weeks, so get there early to bag the best swag.’

Well it might be time to remind readers of this event, as the sale on Sunday 1 June will be dominated by a massive second hand designer fashion sale. Mainly pieces from fashion shoots, outlet seconds and a magazine editor’s annual clear-out, this is certainly one for your anthropologist and fashion-focused audience as the vendor will be donating a percentage to charity.

Visitors can expect a range of designer goods from Coast, Cos, Whistles, Reiss, Sandro, The Kooples, Zara Studio, Topshop Unique, Banana Republic, Anthropologie, J Crew, Isabel Marant, H&M conscious collection, Biba, Twenty8Twelve, Sass & Bide, vintage fur coats and dresses. UK sizing ranging from 6-14. In terms of shoes and accessories, highlights include hand gear from Chloe, Mulberry and Maison Scotch, with shoes (mainly UK sizes 5-7 or European 38-40) from Russell & Bromley, LK Bennett, Vivienne Westwood, Zara, Marc Jacobs and Steve Madden. There will be some scarves including past season versions of McQueen’s iconic skull scarf, statement jewels and one-off designer items donated to the cause.

Visitors will be assured a great rummage, a friendly chat, and most probably an absolute treasure for a fraction of the original price, with new items discounted by at least 50% and second hand items by up to 80%.
