Angela Brown and The Mighty 45's

The Half Moon, Putney is proud to present the fabulous Angela Brown.

Angela Brown is a superb blues singer from Chicago, a protégé and family friend of at true blues legend - the late great Willie Dixon, who along with Pinetop Perkins, and Buddy Guy was a member of Angela's band for a time. 2014 celebrates the 20th Anniversary of the first gig that Angela played with her U.K band, The Mighty 45's. In 2009, Angela Brown and the Mighty 45's recorded the album 'Thinking Out Loud', produced by the legendary Mike Vernon. The album contained two exclusive previously unrecorded Willie Dixon songs left to Angela by Willie after his passing. The album also featured Carey Bell on harmonica, and Michael Coleman and Johnny B Moore on guest guitars. Out of the blue, Angela has found no less than five more Willie Dixon songs recorded in rough demo form onto cassette by 'Poppa D', as Willie was known to those - like Angela - who were close to him. These songs have never previously been released, but they will naturally be a key part of the set-list, and Angela and the band will be recording these tracks with Mike Vernon producing.
