How to diversify and survive
A one-day workshop for freelance journalists

As markets and budgets shrink, publications close and the future looks uncertain for print journalists, how can they adapt and flourish in an ever changing media landscape? For many, branching out into the so-called ‘commercial writing’ field – through corporate communications, copywriting, social media management and more, is the answer.

This one-day workshop offers concrete, straight-talking tips on maximising new income streams by finding and hanging on to new types of work.

It’s presented by two trainers who have run a successful editorial agency, working with commercial clients, for the last 11 years.

This workshop is for you if you’d like to:

Find new work
Increase your income
Learn how to retain commercial clients

The itinerary will include:

Practical tips, advice and exercises on finding new markets

Guidance on how to work with clients outside journalism,
their expectations of customer service and approach to
business

Advice on business systems and procedures to make sure you
are treated with the respect you deserve as a supplier of
services

Exercises in copywriting style and approach

To book a place, please email [email protected] and a booking form will be sent to you as well as payment details, which include the option of paying in two instalments.
