Get down to the beautiful, vibey basement bar beneath Cottons Caribbean restaurant for the ultimate funky Afro-jazz summer party with a rare appearance by the new line-up of the legendary Pigbag.

The presence of this UK Funk Afro-Jazz combo may have been a short burst of energised time in the early 80s, but they certainly left a lingering legacy with their song Papa’s Got a Brand New Pigbag, a piece of music which has continued to bring agitated life to feet and emotions ever since. Releasing two albums between 1980 and 1983, as well as touring extensively across Europe, Japan and the United States, the Bristol based band refreshed all areas, from post punk to Jazz and funk to pop. Now, 30 years later, Pigbag return with their third album 'Year of the Pigbag' on Sugarshack records. Certainly time has not dampened their creative enthusiasm and potential to seize senses and limbs and make them join their vibrant cause. pigbag.co.uk
