The Fair in the Square

The Fair in the Square is an annual event when Highgate Village comes alive with children’s activities, live music, stalls and entertainment for all ages. Children can enjoy Punch and Judy shows and Stilt Walkers, board The Land Train and other fair rides, learn circus skills and scale the Climbing Wall. The Country Fair, complete with sheep shearing demos, showcases Highgate’s own Great Bake-Off and horticultural skills. Live performances from local groups and schools, such as Hornsey School Steel Band and The Blonde Bombshells of 1943 swing band, from the show running at the time at `Upstairs at the Gatehouse`. Local charities, Highgate shops and small businesses contribute to the 100 plus stalls that line the streets selling crafts, plants, clothes, books and an array of international food.
