jazz-trained singer, writer, and producer Brendan was born and raised in LA before moving to NYC at the age of 18 and then finally to Europe at the age of 20. Since settling in London he has over the last decade or so established himself as a singer of considerable breadth and personality, performing soul, groove and indie music with skill and aplomb. A session singer of great experience and versatility he has also worked and recorded with the likes of Rita Ora, Olly Murs, and Duffy. Perhaps best known at the Club for his work with RB Funkestra, Brendan has made quite a name for himself on the UK scene in recent times and the very high standard of his performance is reflected in his regular work with the iconic bands Florence and the Machine and Basement Jaxx. Tonight he will be previewing material from his forthcoming album and has invited two great singers to help him along the way, Cecilia Stalin and Natalie Williams. Swedish by birth, since 2004 Cecilia Stalin has been working in Sweden, New York and her adopted city of London as a singer, composer, arranger, recording artist, teacher and vocal coach. Blessed with a wonderful, pure tone and great time, Cecilia’s work with the Swedish jazz electronica duo Koop scored her first hit and she since has built an impressive reputation amongst many of the most influential musicians on the UK jazz scene, garnering praise for various projects including her John Coltrane-inspired record “Step Like A Giant”. Natalie Williams is an exceptional singer/songwriter whose style is a unique blend of R&B, vocal jazz and soul. Until recently one of the featured singers with the iconic band “Incognito” Natalie also hosts a monthly soul gig at iconic London venue Ronnie Scott’s as well as gigging with the band “Soul Family” (who will perform at Love Supreme Festival this year). Nominated for a MOBO Award in 2010, Natalie’s latest album, “Where you Are”, co-written with pianist Tom Cawley, has already received impressive reviews. With Brendan leading the way, experience tells us that this stellar line-up promises to deliver quite a night. Booking advised. “Reilly….stunning Soul-Jazz vocalist” Time Out; “Stalin has impressive range and flexibility and timbre, from sustained vibrato to percussive almost beat boxing sounds” LondonJazz Blog; “Natalie Williams…One of the UK’s hottest singers…she effortlessly moves from soul-diva to sensual and sophisticated jazz.” Time Out
