Literary Kitchen Festival is for writers, aspiring writers, and people passionate about books and the arts.

Based at The Peckham Pelican, and showcasing some of literature’s newest and most original voices, the Literary Kitchen Festival is a fire-starter for your creativity. The daily event, This Is Not Writerly Behaviour, is a workshop without an agenda: a space for writers to meet, talk, share experiences and, most importantly, WRITE. It is an open studio where we shine a light on the writing process and introduce dialogue and collaboration into the mix. Base yourself at This Is Not Writerly Behaviour, 11am-4pm Mon-Fri, in between the festival’s workshops, readings and events, including readings from writers including Evie Wyld, a daily film, 'How to think' from Stephen Appleby, and fantatic fun events including Literary Ping Pong, Make your own D*mn Manifesto and an inspirational Poet Led Walk. Use this space to put your inspiration into action, make friends and contacts and get moral support for your work. Find out about journeys through procrastination at Unwriters’ Anonymous, Friday 3-4pm, and share your procrastination stories.
