Design Your Own Ice Lolly at the Museum of Brands! Summer Activity for Kids in Our Time Tunnel

The Museum of Brands, Packaging and Advertising announces its new family activity for the summer holidays – a design-your-own ice lolly trail! Families can travel through the Museum’s time tunnel of consumer history as our young visitors try and spot amongst our 12,000 items all the ingredients they want for their own colourful ice lolly design.

Free of charge activity sheets and pencils are available for every child to take around the Museum. The trail begins in the Victorian period and ends in the present day with plenty of well known, tasty products on display; From Kia-Ora to Ribena, cola to ice-cream, there are plenty of ingredients to try and spot. The real difficulty will only come in picking the favourites for a new ice-lolly design!

All the designs can be entered into a competition to win some summertime-inspired goodies! A winner will be picked at the end of the school holidays at random from all entries. Children can enter as many times as they want in one visit!

Laura Lewis-Davies, Education Officer at the Museum of Brands says “our new design your own ice lolly activity is a really fun way for children to enjoy our quirky collection. Not only that, it is a fantastic way for grown-ups to show children the brands and foodstuffs they grew up with; including the drinks, snacks, and yes lollies, that they enjoyed in the summers of their youth. Hopefully the trail will bring back many happy summertime memories while also creating even more!”

Design Your Own Ice Lolly runs throughout the school summer holidays, and is available from Saturday 12 July until Sunday the 31st of August. The Activity is FREE with admission
