“drummer Matt Fishwick…equally impressive”- DAVE GELLY, THE OBSERVER

One of the most individual male jazz voices to emerge on the UK jazz scene recently, and with a reputation for a seemingly endless supply of subtle wit and ad-lib, charismatic jazz singer/songwriter Kevin Fitzsimmons immediately draws in his audience. Together with his band (top mainstream & modern bebop names described by Jazzwise Magazine in review of Fitzsimmons critically acclaimed album as “the cream of UK straight-ahead jazz musicians”) they blend West Coast cool, hard swinging, blues-tinged ballads, all in the space of a relentlessly entertaining set.

Like the band’s recent album testifies, Fitzsimmons presents carefully-chosen material, reconstituted with taste and verve. Delivering a sassy new take on standards by likes of Mercer, Strayhorn, Jobim, Legrand, Ellington, Porter, and some new jazz translations of anthems from likes of The Beatles, John Martyn, Sam Cooke, Billy Preston. Plus one or two originals (some co-written with Jools Holland saxophonist Derek Nash).

His band’s award-winning Jazz pianist, Leon Greening is rightly regarded as among the best of our current UK jazz pianists. His extraordinary solos, inspired by the likes of Wynton Kelly and Bud Powell, keep the audience on the edge of their seats and mark him out as one of the finest pianists this country has ever produced. His last album solidified Greening as one of the premier pianists of his generation, so come along and hear what all the fuss is about.

Matt Fishwick is one of the first call drummers in London jazz & has worked with many greats on both the London, and the New York jazz scene, where he appeared on TV show 'After Hours' on MSNBC with the John Colianni Trio.

Bassist Adam King has performed widely in Europe and the UK, and is one of the most in demand young bass players around. He has been asked to play with some of the most prolific musicians on the UK and international jazz scene, but is just as comfortable in the studio as on stage having recorded for the likes of Warner Brothers, Universal and the BBC.

Kevin Fitzsimmons
Is a London born jazz singer, lyricist/songwriter, entertainer and producer. His album ‘Show Me The Way’ was released at the end of last year to critical acclaim, he’s enjoyed sell- out shows with this band at Ronnie Scott’s, a one hour concert live on Jazz FM and TV appearance on E4′s Made In Chelsea. His distinctive vocals have featured in TV and radio commercials in UK and Europe - including a TV advert with Hollywood movie star Naomi Watts; he has entertained royalty twice and booked by many celebrities & sports stars for private gigs. And since 2011 has been frontman of hit Big Band show Sinatra Sequins & Swing (The Capitol Years Live!), a touring concert based on the iconic music produced by Capitol Records during Sinatra’s supreme years there in the 50s
