In a lighthearted, informative way, the first part will discuss the ancient Hospital at St Katharine's by the Tower, under Royal patronage from 1148 right up to 1825 when it was destroyed to make way for the famous St Katharine Docks, built by Thomas Telford. Next, we will enjoy seeing many of the relics, now preserved at our venue, RFSK at Limehouse, and walk around its lovely buildings and gardens. Finally, some aspects of St Katharine Docks will be explored, including the luxury goods that were traded, the men who worked at the Docks, then finishing with some of the 'treasures' which are at today's St Katharine's.
