Caravela – Live Performance

Built to sail towards the mighty Atlantic winds, Caravela was the vessel that made many Portuguese explorers head to new horizons. Taking their culture along, they were looking for new possibilities and trading exchanges. The stimulating part was the travelling, the experimentation and the adventurous navigational decisions – that made them discover the world and that is what this group brings forth in their music. Inspired by their fearless journeys, the group sets itself to explore the musical universe of the Atlantic sea, merging vibrant rhythms from the Afro-Brazilian culture and soulful melodies from Portugal with inviting funky grooves from New York and elements of jazz improvisation.The passengers may be taken to a beautiful place.
