London outfit The Devout Sceptics making a welcome return to Jump Jive and Shout. One of our very favourite bands. The Devout Sceptics have stormed Bestival and certainly know how to put on a show. They perform original retro inspired material (written by bass-man Ian Fuller)that fuses rockabilly, Americana, blues and country. It's obvious that The Devout Sceptics are having a good time on stage because they work so well together and enjoy what they do. The delightful lead vocalist Collette Winter has that raw emotion and country twang in her voice that many of the early country and rockabilly queens such as Patsy Cline, Wanda Jackson have when singing - giving The Devout Sceptics a certain charm.
Line-up
Collette Winter - Lead vocals
Ian Fuller - Double Bass
Mark Lambert - Drums
Ian Gant - Guitar
Plus dj Jen spinning some of the very best in pulsating, energy driven 1940's and 50's rhythm and blues, doo wop, boogie woogie, blues shouters and more. Always a great night out at Jump Jive and Shout on the second Saturday of the month.
