Zoe started singing jazz while living and working in New York, and soon became a regular fixture on the scene, often sitting in with the late Harry Whitaker and his trio at Arturo’s down in the Village as well as working with many other musicians including Harry Allen, Warren Vache, Joe Cohn and Chris Flory. Her first album "Looking for a Boy" was released to significant acclaim, providing a great showcase for her beautiful voice. It is Zoe’s second CD, “The Very Thought of You”, recorded live at the 606 earlier this year that she is launching here at the Club tonight. Featuring that same great sense of swing and captivating delivery that Zoe is known for, the record contains another great set of carefully chosen standards reflecting Zoe’s exquisite taste, such as “Born to Be Blue” and “My Man”. Appearing with Zoe this evening will be iconic UK guitarist Jim Mullen, the great Stan Sulzmann on sax, Gareth Williams (Claire Martin) on piano, Mick Hutton on bass and Enzo Zirilli on drums. A classic jazz star in the making, and a brilliant gig.

“something a bit special is going on when this artist…takes the stage…there is a quality in Zoe Francis’s work that suggests something of the classic singers of the past…yet there is no obvious attempt to be anyone but herself, with an appealing freshness as well as technical command that make her shows well worth seeking out...….a classy, poised singer who respects her material enough to deliver it straight and true” LondonJazz News;
