The innovative hairdressing training brand, Allilon Education, has unveiled a stellar line-up of professional, creative talent to appear at its pioneering event – The Crafts.

Held on Tuesday 21 October 2014, from 5pm to 10pm, more than 900 creative individuals will witness the talents of a select group of collaborators at the Old Spitalfields Market in Spitalfields, London, for a truly influential and inspiring evening. The event, which is not your average hair show, aims to unite hairdressers, artists and craftsman to explore the different interpretations of craftsmanship by displaying their unique abilities to its creative guests. This extraordinary event will bring together a range of leading artists and craftsmen from across the UK and London for an evening of art and inspiration combining hairdressing, illustration, make-up, millinery, sculpture, street art, graffiti, jewellery design, ice-sculpture, woodwork and fine art.

Traditionally, the hairdressing industry educates hairdressers through the medium of fashion and hair shows, however Johnny Othona and Pedro Inchenko, Directors of Allilon Education, believed there was a gap in the market for a different industry event that would align hairdressing with craftsmanship. This led Allilon Education’s top team of innovative educators to establish a forward-thinking, educational event supported by Italian haircare manufacturer Davines, in line with the brand.

The Crafts creative line-up includes, among others:

Nathan Bowen – Street Art
Using imaginative, dynamic and experimental techniques, street artist Nathan transforms derelict spaces into works of art using pens and acrylic paints.

Lucy Sparrow – Textile Art
Lucy mainly works with felt and wool, creating oversized, soft versions of existing objects and major artworks. She most recently created The Cornershop – an eight-month long project to create an entire corner shop out of felt.

Anna Lingis – Make-up
Anna is a face-painter, make-up artist, special-effects artist, nail technician and tattoo designer. She has face and body-painted at events including the first-ever UK Zoo Project festival – a hedonistic weekend of electronic music.

Andy Burgess – Wood Sculpture
A professional chainsaw wood sculptor, Andy creates bespoke sculptures by carving with chainsaws and power tools. He was the first chainsaw wood sculptor to exhibit at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2013.

Lili Colley – Fashion Jewellery Design
Lili creates her award-winning designs by layering coloured spectrums of Perspex, mirrors and polished brass to create innovative geometric jewellery.

Eighties Conspiracy – Graffiti
Eighties Conspiracy is a graffiti crew created near Marseille, south of France, that create large-scale murals in major cities across the world.

Wenistus Asanga Amerasinge – Ice Sculptor
