Matthew Edwards and the Unfortunates will take the stage to debut their new album ‘The Fates’ with support by Trent Miller. ‘The Fates’ is adorned with folky and Gallic touches that meet strings, brass, pedal steel and incendiary electric guitar, accompanied by Edwards’ love-broken lyrics. Released by Metal Postcard Records, the album has been coined as “a low key classic in the making.”

Mathew Edwards and The Unfortunates are a 4/6-piece group based in San Francico, USA and Birmingham, UK.

‘The Fates’ album is produced by Eric Drew Feldman (Capt. Beefheart, P.J. Harvey, Pixies) with contributions from Fred Frith on electric guitar (Henry Cow, Eno, Robert Wyatt).

Following the 2013 Metal Postcard Records release of the group’s 45 “Minotaur/Bad Blood,” Mathew Edwards relocated to the UK and created a UK version of The Unfortunates. Whether playing with the band or solo shows, Mathew Edwards has opened for Joanna Newsom, St Etienne, Joe Henry, Michael Chapman, Camera Obscura, Devendra Banhart and Robert Forster.

In November 2014, Metal Postcard Records will officially present ‘The Fates’ worldwide.
