Bereavement is an experience which can lead people to seek solace in poetry for the first time, or indeed, write a poem for the first time.
Discussing and reciting poems written in anger, confusion, sadness or celebration are writers Jack Rooke and Tim Wells. Catherine Fried and her husband the late poet Erich Fried lived and worked in Kilburn for 30 years.
Richard Putt is a dedicated funeral director of 42 years’ experience. He explains the new prominence of poetry at funerals.

Audience members will also be invited to recite short poems of their own.
