The portrait of community rife with lies and deception.
Henry is weak - naïve, sheltered and all too trusting of the status quo – clearly ill equipped to craft and lead his people. He is overwhelmed by viciousness, in-fighting, lust and greed. Margaret, his wife, commits herself to a tender, passionate and loving entanglement with Suffolk, not her husband - finding herself as much caught up in, as torn apart by the whirlwind tearing through her newfound home.
Henry VI: York V Lancaster is told in the signature bare-boned, cross-cultural Two Gents Style. Featuring Dilek Rose and Isaac Ssebandeke as the only two actors. They draw on their rich and varied resources to slip into all of the play's 20+ characters.
Note: Our performance at the Rich Mix is the first public airing of this our brand new production. Think of it as a work in progress that your attendance will help us polish!

Our remit is to explore issues of displacement and cultural otherness and to promote the skills and abilities of minority ethnic actors. We do this through Shakespeare. All of Shakespeare. Henry VI is only the beginning...
