To celebrate the last two years of POKFULAM RD PRODUCTIONS, we're having a proper knees-up!

We cannot believe what a 2 years its been! We've produced over four site-specifics and we've worked with an insanely talented group of writers, actors, producers, musicians...

Now its time to let our hair down!

Oh and we'll be combining it with a rehearsed reading of Young's new play on North Korea and the media entitled THE 38TH PARALLEL (Part III of the Hong Kong Quartet).

ABOUT:

A woman, a dissident, a journalist and a poplar tree. What is fame when it is founded upon atrocity? What defines a “human right?” Does art set you free?

A story about one woman’s attempt at finding freedom - but ends up gaining worldwide fame. Did she ask for it? Did she want it? Who benefits from her recent escape?

A satire about the Western media's perception and perpetuating ideas of what its really like in North Korea.

WHAT OTHERS HAVE TO SAY:

"I loved the ambition of this. It’s just thrilling to find a playwright who has so much to say and wants to take it on in this medium. Exhilarating stuff.”

“Please, can we find some way to encourage her? We need her."
- Feedback from Ellen McLaughlin, Shakespeare's Sister Fellowship 2014
