Turning the origins of street art on its head, Lukas Avalon meets the challenge of removing it from its urban environment onto canvas, while maintaining the core elements of the art form. His talent is evident and his bold and bright pieces are incredibly eye-catching. Lukas pays tribute to many icons of our time including a poised Grace Kelly and youthful Kate Moss, stylistically spray painted onto canvases and cardboard.

Lukas addresses the power of fame and our obsession with celebrity within his work. Behind his highly detailed portraits is an underlying social commentary hidden within the collaged layers. It can be clearly seen where is inspirations lie as he credits influences among pioneering pop artists Andy Warhol and Keith Haring, as well as the expressive work of Jean-Michel Basquiat.

Based in Monaco, Lukas Avalon is ready to take on the London art scene with his vibrant collection, available exclusively at Imitate Modern within the UK. A series of pieces will be part of an upcoming exhibition this summer, to be unveiled publicly for the very first time!
