Hot Vox presents: Clutching At Straws // Thieves // Square Bones // Dear Life, // Abandon Her

‘SMITHS’, Spitalfields, is located on the outskirts of the iconic Old Spitalfields Market and on Friday 9th January will play host to some of the best live bands in London. Hosted by HOT VOX, this free entry Friday night event is the place to be to discover excellent new bands in rock ‘n’ roll chic surroundings.

Topping the bill is Clutching At Straws, a multi-talented and diverse alternative folk quartet, hailing from the ‘creative county’ of Staffordshire. They use an impressive variety of instruments to build a full, layered sound suffused with subtlety.

Support comes from Thieves, a 4 piece psychadelic rock 'n' roll band with a blues edge, straight out of Londons east end. They seek to combine music, art and love together in a cocktail of entropy and in abnegation of the rules.

Also on the line up are Square Bones, an alternative/indie 4 piece from London, influenced by the likes of Radiohead, Interpol and the National.

Dear Life, is next on the line up. The full band sound is melancholy rock/trip hop, which can also be converted to a stripped down singer/songwriter duo set.

Opening the night is Abandon Her, an acoustic-driven band with a twist. The band pride themselves on their originality which captivates audiences.

So sip on a cocktail in the bar overlooking the Shoreditch streets or make your way to the stunning basement bar to listen to the hottest new bands around. With a line up this talented all housed in one of the best undiscovered live music venues in East London, this free night is sure to start your Friday off right!
