Welsh-Egyptian motormouth Omar Hamdi gears up for his first full hour of stand-up comedy at Edinburgh 2015 with this work in progress show.
Fresh from a national tour supporting Russell Kane, Hamdi's much anticipated debut is about his struggle to fit in: East vs West, spirituality vs capitalism, masculine vs feminine culture. Egypt vs Wales.
As a high-energy, affable Welsh-Egyptian comic, Omar makes the personal political and the political personal, with a disarming every-man charm.
As seen on Seann Walsh’s Comedy Spectacular (BBC3) and Free Speech (BBC3).
'Just what the comedy scene has been crying out for... seductive charm and commanding presence; a Welsh-Egyptian funnyman who's going places with a mixture of streetwise observational humour and shrewd insights' - Dominic Cavendish, Daily Telegraph
'Smashed it like a ceramic plate, every night of the tour' - Russell Kane
