We're two!!

Yes, this is our second birthday, and we are a little bit excited. Expect streamers, cheesy balloons, party hats, poppers and perhaps the odd party game or two. Oh and of course a fabulous line up of musicians, delicious sandwiches from 2 fingers and the slight dark hilariousness of James Ross guiding you through the day. There are also rumours of birthday cake…shhh….

As it's our birthday we will be inviting back past team members, sound people, musicians and maybe even the odd ex-boyfriend, you know...just so it's super awkward!

THE MUSIC

Anna Capldi
The path to making and performing great music doesn’t always run smoothlyeven when, like Anna Pancaldi, you have the kind of voice that tends to stop
people in their tracks. When you first listen to her brilliant debut ‘Black Tears’ EP, or watch one of her gigs, you wouldn't believe that her career was almost
destroyed before it started by debilitating stage fright.

Robert Chaney
Robert Chaney is an American performing artist, heir to the songwriting tradition of Townes Van Zandt, Hank Williams, and Judee Sill. Though he is still a relative newcomer, the past two years have seen Robert Chaney become one of the most talked-about performers on the London singer-songwriter scene. Cracked Picture Frames is his highly praised ten-track debut, released digitally on February 15, 2015 and available on CD on April 26.

Sonata
Sonata Kay is a London-based singer/songwriter. Her debut single 'World War i' has received positive critical reviews and was featured on Channel Radio, Kings of A&R, A&R Daily and more. She devotes the time perfecting her own style and co-operating with musicians and producers of multiple genres. Her distinctive sound is best described as an infusion of Soul and Urban Pop, paying a lot of attention to lyrical depth. Sonata Kay is currently recording her debut EP and playing live shows in and around London.

Emily Capell
Emily Capell tells blues inflected indiepop tales of life's frustrations and elations. Whether she's railing against the wrongs of the world, getting a little frisky or inventing a new dance craze Emily will pull you in and spin you round so quickly you'll wonder why you ever bothered with dull generic boys with guitars.

Watch a video, listen to some music, read the blog, browse the shop and make a note of those all important tour dates for both Emily's solo and full band shows

Alice Phelps Band

Alice Phelps has been gracing the stages of London for the past year with her set up of harp and husky vocals, now joined by a beautiful string section of cello, violin and double bass, and sympathetic percussion. Experimenting with delay, blues licks, intricate melodies and rhythmic harp playing she takes her audience on a journey through the sounds of China, the Middle East and back to the days of the soul greats. Playing venues such as Hootenanny's, Wilton’s Music Hall, London Jazz Festival, Half Moon, Alice is making steady head on the London folk/acoustic scene. A harpist, pianist, violinist, guitarist and singer songwriter who never ceases to experiment with new techniques in her original folkish sound.
