Mozart: Magic Flute Overture
Brahms: Violin Concerto
Schumann: Symphony No. 1 in B-flat major, ‘Spring’

Ben Palmer – conductor
Berent Korfker – violin

Under the baton of guest conductor Ben Palmer, Trinity Orchestra returns to the music of Brahms with a performance of his sublime Violin Concerto by the internationally renowned Dutch violinist Berent Korfker.

Written for the legendary soloist Joachim, it can be safely said that Brahms’s impressive work is one of the most popular concertos of all time. This performance by multi-award winning violinist and Royal College of Music professor Berent Korfker promises to be a very special one, not to be missed.

Framing Brahms’s much-loved work will be the famous Magic Flute Overture by Mozart and the ‘Spring’ Symphony by Schumann. The symphony’s title is drawn from a line by a German Romantic poet: “In the valley, spring approaches”. Schumann’s great work evocatively depicts the freshness and energy of spring and relief at the end of winter.
