This year, at our annual May Day festival we are seeing in the new month with a Victorian theme! The Victorians celebrated May Day to welcome the arrival of spring and the purity of the season. Because of this, the young maidens of the village played a central role in the celebration of the holiday; by dressing in white and participating in the May-Day dance, they exemplified the “newness” and “beauty” of the spring season. In honor of these traditions you can expect themed entertainment in the form of period re-enactments, displays of traditional Morris and Maypole Dancing and back by popular demand this year is our Vintage Car Show. Whilst you’re here, why not take the opportunity to tour the most mysterious and ancient buildings in greater London?

Treat yourself to homemade bread, cakes and jams, specialty foods, handmade crafts and gifts from the many market stalls that will be here on the day.

Meet people from local groups such and find out more about what they do and how you can get involved.

Bring friends and family along for a fun filled day at the stunning grounds Headstone Manor Museum.
