As China enters a new era of development, the Chinese government is seeking to create a diversified and resilient economy which draws on Knowledge, Creativity and Culture. In the wake of their growth, some medium to large Chinese cities have left behind substantial industrial building legacies which are steeped in rich culture and history, so as a consequence the Chinese government is working to ensure that these cities lead an enlightened cultural path for city regeneration.
On 29th April, 15-20 Chinese representatives from development companies, urban planners, architects and academics will arrive in London for a one day forum. As well as providing unique insight from leading experts of King Cross and Battersea Power Station regeneration projects, the forum will also be an opportunity to exchange ideas on the current issues facing city regeneration in China.
An exhibition showcasing regeneration projects in the UK and China will take place in the China Design Centre gallery from the 27th April to the 9th May. Entry to the exhibition is free.
