The penultimate recital of this season’s Rosenblatt Recitals Series sees soprano Jessica Pratt take to the Wigmore Hall stage in what promises to be an exciting evening of opera and song at one of London’s most prestigious music venues.
Hailed as a soprano of “gleaming sound, free and easy high notes, agile coloratura runs and lyrical grace” (New York Times), Jessica Pratt is quickly becoming one of today’s foremost interpreters of bel canto’s most challenging repertoire. Pratt has forged a stellar career in Europe, receiving the ultimate Italian stamp of approval for sopranos, ‘La Siola d’Oro’, for her blistering performances as Lucia in Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor, in what is fast becoming her signature role.
“The glory of Pratt’s voice is in the upper octave. From the Act I love duet onwards, her fluid, silvery soprano shimmered and took flight.” Bachtrack.
Programme includes songs and arias by Rossini, Donizetti, Bellini, Massenet, Gounod, Bachelet, Dell’Acqua, Delibes and Thomas.
