The Wilmotte Gallery at Lichfield Studios presents the latest exhibition by Italian photographer Patrizia Mussa entitled Le Temple du Soleil. Previously exhibited at the Palazzo Morando in Milan and the Villa Savoye (designed by Le Corbusier) near Paris, we are proud to host this exhibition for the first time in London. Her photographs capture the essence of the “Ville Nouvelle”, a visionary landscape designed by chief architect and town planner Jean Balladur in the 1960s and 1970s and built from scratch on what was then a deserted expanse of sandy dunes and lagoons on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea near Montpellier.
The exhibition showcases the evolution of this most unusual yet outstanding coastal resort and port along the French littoral zone, listed by the French Government as a twentieth-century heritage site in 2010.
OPENING NIGHT:
We would also like to invite interested parties to the opening reception which will take place on Thursday 21 May, 6-8pm. Please RSVP to [email protected] if you would like to attend.
