How you can program yourself into a corner but with a little more patience you can make sure you don't end up in any cul-de-sacs. Although this mostly involves getting your entity design right the first time it will also cover some of the mistakes programmers make when they start dealing with clients for the first time. There are danger signs to watch out for and diplomatic techniques you can use to make sure you avoid, or at least can handle, your own personal 'clients from hell'. This can work both ways, so we are also including the mistakes people make when they are business owners dealing with techies for the first time. TechBank's founders have been on both sides of the fence and would like to pass on some practical advice and guidance on how to get things right first time. Over a couple of hours we'll spend some time on actual problems and could even crack open a laptop or two and have hack about if you have any projects on the go that you would like to discuss.

This event will take the form of an informal 'work shop' where we will be looking at 'real life' problems, what you can expect to encounter and how to overcome them.
