Following the success of his 2010 production 'Orpheus in the Underworld', Liam Steel returns to direct the Royal College of Music's International Opera School production of Britten’s 1947 comic chamber opera in three acts, 'Albert Herring'. The light-hearted work, which tells the story of an innocent young man reluctantly crowned village ‘May Queen’ after no girl is deemed sufficiently virtuous, will be performed by a student cast of up-and-coming opera stars, with top soprano and RCM teacher Janis Kelly in the role of Lady Billows.
