Every year, in the heart of London, a bustling community that surrounds Bermondsey Street gathers together for its annual Festival. With the Street and surrounding roads traffic-free for the day, the shops, galleries, cafés, restaurants, bars and businesses open their doors to share their wares with locals, friends and visitors

Close to Borough Market, the Festival honours Bermondsey’s historic reputation as ‘London’s Larder’, although more artisan food and restaurants than market. Supported this year by Simplicity Café and Restaurant in Rotherhithe, the Festival will see more than thirty local restaurants bringing their food to the streets for your enjoyment. Liquid refreshments are covered too with Bermondsey Street’s vibrant bars and pubs serving drinks in the park, and the local Southwark Brewery will have its own Festival ale should you wish to imbibe.

Artists, musicians, dancers, actors and fashionistas will present their work and talents across a range of stages and on the streets. This year, entertainment includes maypole dancing, a jazz orchestra, salsa dancing, choir singers, local bands and more. Mid-afternoon, local dog owners join the acclaimed Bermondsey Dog Show in Leathermarket Gardens, tucked away off Bermondsey Street in the shadow of the Shard.
