The Studio Lighting Workshop is the ideal course for photography newcomers, as well as experienced photographers looking for a refresher.

If you are ready to move into the studio, then this Studio Lighting Photography Workshop is the perfect way to begin your journey. You will learn in an interactive, hands-on environment. All our tutors are experienced and highly skilled. All aspects of a studio shoot are covered, from lighting equipment, lenses and light meters, to backdrops, props and studio setups. Our policy of teaching in small groups means you will receive individual attention. This means you can learn effectively and develop your skills.

Course topics:

- The Studio – why and when to use the studio? Understanding studio lighting photography; the "studio" and the necessary equipment.
- Lighting equipment: studio heads, mono blocks and power packs, portable batteries all will be explained in depth.
- Light shapers: light modifiers and light shapers (soft boxes, beauty dishes, snoots, barn doors, umbrellas,) will be all explained in depth as well as how to use them and what type of images they can achieve.
- Lighting styles and studio setups: hard light, soft light, directional light, spot light, etc.
- Background: different types of backgrounds explained: canvas, paper, art and commercial backgrounds including the colours: white, black, colour, grey; how to improvise amazing backgrounds with minimum costs.
- Cameras, lenses and light meters needed for studio photography will be explained in depth.
- Props in studio lighting.
- Other accessories: clamps, stands, arms, etc. will be presented and their use will be explained in depth.
- How to set up a studio with minimum budget, in terms of location and equipment.
- Master your home photo studio: advice on constructing a home photo studio setup with budget equipment, setup, and accessories explained.

What you will need:
- All you need is a basic knowledge of camera lenses, aperture, shutter speed and ISO including exposure modes.
- A Digital SLR or professional Compact camera with full manual exposure is required.
