The Boundary Road Gallery Presents Simon Welch

Studio 3 Arts are delighted to present Simon Welch, the next ground-breaking artist to feature in our Boundary Road Gallery programme.

From the 7th of September, Studio 3 Art’s Boundary Road Gallery will be transformed to present four of Simon’s unique and absorbing short films.

This will be a unique opportunity to witness the Strasbourg-based filmmaker’s work in the UK, offering visitors an opportunity to see a full range of films from his extensive portfolio,

Simon’s four films consist of "Cast'' (2012), which follows night fishermen on a beach; in ''Prelude'' (2014) a young girl's piano practice provides the soundtrack for the tribulations of her own life; ''Focus'' (2014) uses a ghostly anecdote to parallel the decline of the mining industry and ''Domain & Range'' (2015) explores family history and religious persecution via the death of a lizard in a vineyard. Simon employs diverse elements and themes such as man and nature, succeeding generations, art and religion and plants and animals, to take us on a journey through his films.

The Boundary Road Gallery is a welcoming space open to all visitors, we encourage local Barking and Dagenham residents to take advantage of experiencing and exploring artwork, no matter what art experience you have. Come along during August to see this outstanding diverse collection of contemporary artwork by Mervenil Emiroglu, and let us know what you think.
