On Thursday 17th September, TailSpin returns after the summer to present a pulse-quickening, funny-bone-tickling, imagination-prickling evening of astronomical stories and live music.

UNIVERSE
- an R&D performance by CLARE MUIREANN MURPHY

There is a space in the middle of the night; a fissure that opens between worlds, one that builds a dream bridge between many things... mathematicians and turtles, myth and science, gods and musicians. Clare dances into the liminal space between places to present a scratch version of her new show; Universe. Come and find out if Mythience really exists, what happens when numbers meet metal, and why are there turtles everywhere?

Clare Muireann Murphy is a dedicated curiosist, and a lover of the word; spoken or written. Part Irish, part American, she has lived in both countries, as well as in Spain, and is now based in London. A popular performer around the world, she has performed stories in more than 20 countries and in both English & Spanish. Her storytelling performances are physical and passionate, and she is blessed with an inherently delightful personality that befriends all and sundry. Her last show 'The King of Lies' took TailSpin by storm.

And we are delighted to welcome back to Night of the Storyteller blues and roots influenced musical duo Ma Polaine’s Great Decline - described as “a young Billie Holiday gate-crashing a Tom Waits Swordfishtrombones recording session”, with a sound that “wouldn’t be out of place in a speakeasy or the Left Bank”.

Plus short stories from other tellers.
