Historically, the diaspora have greatly contributed to progress and empowerment in Africa from the rise of nationalism and independence movements of the 1950s and 1960s to economic investment and remittances. We play a necessary part in the holistic growth of the continent, but how can the young people in the diaspora increase the impact of their efforts in the present day?

The Bridge Series: Africa’s Greatest Asset, presented by The Royal African society and hosted by the Africa APPG brings together two panels of successful individuals, connecting them with the African and Caribbean diaspora in order to generate a powerful discussion on how the UK diaspora can successfully approach self-development, navigate often turbulent career paths and invest in African contexts through innovation and leadership.

Join us in Parliament for an afternoon of inspiration and empowerment as our panel of experts lead an interactive discussion on ways you can turn your passion, craft and career choice into a success, and give practical advice on how this can contribute to Africa’s growth and development.

Speakers: Chi Onwurah MP, Chair of Africa APPG; Obi James, career coach & founder of OBJ Coaching Limited; Charles Sekwalor, founder of Movemeback; other speakers TBC
