The 'I Will Tell' International Film Festival will screen the acclaimed documentary 'Camp 72' on Monday, 7 September at 19h.

Directed by the award winning and veteran American journalist Seema Mathur, who has produced and reported for outlets such as CNN, ABC, CBS and NBC, 'Camp 72' delves deeply inside the lasting scars of Liberia's brutal civil war. Investigating its damaging affects on women, families, the corruption of unprosecuted war criminals but most importantly, the war survivors' and activists' strive for peace, understanding and justice.

Jeff Newton CBS 60 Minutes Producer: “Camp 72 is the kind of film seldom being done anymore...Director and Producer Seema Mathur delves into not only the complicated subject of what makes people kill, but it also gives voices to the voiceless...Camp 72 reminds us not to forget and to remember our collective humanity.”

Kyra Phillips CNN Anchor, Correspondent “Camp 72 is not only provocative and emotional, it demands justice. I know Seema Mathur poured her heart and soul into this project with the dream to make a difference. She did just that.”

Synopsis:
During Liberia’s Civil War, Gladys was forced to watch the brutal murder of her mother by a NPFL Rebel. The same fighter held her captive as a sex slave for years. The nightmare started at an area Gladys refers to as Camp 72. More than a decade later, Gladys like many survivors of the 14-year civil war is trying to rebuild her life. The rebel who raped Gladys and killed her mother lives in freedom miles away from her as no one in Liberia has been prosecuted for their war crimes.
This documentary follows a quest for justice and healing through the eyes of survivors, warlords, grassroots activists and four Nobel Laureates. We witness how people find hope and inspiration in the worst of circumstances.
