Handbuild Ceramics - A Who London Social Event For Anyone 50+

The evening will begin with wine, soft drinks and nibbles for our private group to get to know one another. After enjoying socialising and refreshments, your 2 hour short course from Go Create* will start.

You will be introduced to basic handbuild ceramic techniques. During the session you will all build a small coil pot before embarking on a cup, small vase or trinket box.

You will get your hands dirty and sculpting in the first 5 minutes. You’ll need to decide on what you want to make from the word go and your teacher will give you some pointers – like where to put the handle. You will be using stoneware clay which means that your piece will be oven, microwave, frost and dishwasher proof!

Your best 2 pieces will be fired and glazed in your chosen colour – ready for collection within 4 weeks. (Each piece has to dry out thoroughly before an initial firing. Pieces need to be matched for colour, hand-dipped then fired at a higher temperature. Pieces then need to be matched prior to call out.)

This event will be a great practical and fun evening, which begins with drinks and nibbles to set the scene!
