Rory McCleery, director
Taking its name from the Virgin Mary, The Marian Consort make their festival debut, presenting a sequence of works inspired by the visitation of the shepherds at the nativity.
Flowing from Jean Mouton’s beautiful motet Quaeramus cum pastoribus are works by Spanish masters Guerrero, Morales and Victoria in an intimate yet exuberant evening presenting some of the most exquisite choral music of the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries.
