Slone squares mad Mexican inspired playground, Tonteria, located in Chelsea is a tapas/tequila night spot that mixes glamour and a taste of Mexico after dark, successfully managing to be both kitsch and chic. As you enter this Mexican mad house the fun really begins with toy trains delivering tequila shots and delicious and innovative cocktails served out of a Mexican wrestlers mask by eye-catchingly shocking masked waiters. The club offers a range of authentic and refreshing cocktails and quality party food to nibble on throughout the night. Oh and did I forget to mention the scantily clad dancers aptly named the Tontebabes and Tontehunks performing shows around the club. The haunt is cosy but captivatingly decorated with hand painted tiles and hammock hanging from the ceilings (just in case the seating wasn’t your speed), giving its guests the feel of a Mexican tavern. Playing a perfect mix of commercial, hip hop, classics and RnB to fill this thrilling little spot, the DJ’s definitely know what they are doing.
