Journey is an art exhibition of Nazneen Bustani's travel experiences. Take a journey to different destinations and discover a diverse contrast in colour, texture and subject matter. The paintings are eclectic and mainly consist of three collections. The 'Women of India' collection depicts the important roles women play in Indian society. Some are portrayed as statuesque figures whilst others are translucent, almost invisible. No matter if the women are washing clothes by the village well or carrying on their heads a huge bundle of cotton on the streets of Mumbai, they are always dressed elegantly in vibrant saris. Their strength, natural beauty and community spirit is captivating. From the colourful, bright colours of India you will then discover the lush green 'Rainforests of New Zealand'. Waterfalls, creeks, mountains and rainforests envelope you like a breath of fresh air. The natural formations of trees hidden in the forests and the gushing waterfalls hitting the rocks are brought to life with thick textures of paint, scratched to reveal the hidden layers of nature. It is an environment which feels untouched by humans. London is the final destination on this journey. It is viewed as a tourist in one’s hometown. 'London Life' looks at people and architecture in a new light. Take a stroll along the banks of the River Thames and find the beautiful designs on the underside of Blackfriars Bridge. Watch people walking by. View buildings like the British Museum in the most glorious concoction of colour.
