Pop-up Spanish Festival to Debut Catalonian Wines

Forget Beaujolais Nouveau, a Catalonian vineyard has chosen three top London hotels to debut an exclusive first taste of its organic and biodynamic wines.

From 5 to 18 October 2015, trend-setting K West Hotel & Spa, the iconic Lancaster London, and the prestigious five-star Landmark London will all play host to a pop-up festival – giving Londoners the opportunity to try the very first yield of the vineyard.

Winemakers Vins El Cep will showcase exclusive wines and cavas from the famous wine-producing region of Penedès, accompanied by authentic Catalonian-inspired tapas. Wines and cavas will include Marque de Gelida Blanc de Blancs and Negre Selección 2013 at £6 a glass and Marques de Gelida Exclusive Reserva Brut at £7.

The tapas menu offers: Pequillo pepper con bacalao (Baked peppers stuffed with cod) £6; Croquetas de jamon con queso (Croquettes of Spanish ham and cheese) £6; Gambas al ajillo (Tiger prawns cooked in butter and garlic) £9; and Calamari con frijoles de mantequilla (Pan-fried squid with butter beans and smoked paprika) £7.

The pop-up will take place in Studio Kitchen within K West, The Lounge Bar at Lancaster London, and twotwentytwo restaurant at The Landmark London.

Vins El Cep is located in the heart of the Penedès. This cellar summarises the knowledge and tradition of four families (Carreras, Esteve, Massana and Parera) to harvest products of top-end quality.
