European Swing Dance Championships

The European Swing Dance Championships is Europe’s largest swing dancing competition event, and attracts dancers from all around then world. 35+ countries will be represented in the championships, with the world’s top champion dancers all in attendance. Preliminary rounds are run during the day, and Finals in the evenings from 8pm to midnight, interspersed with social dancing to live jazz bands.

Bands this year include a dream-team house band we have dubbed the European Swing All Stars, with top players coming from all around Europe and playing together for this event only. Also on Friday and Saturday night, the Hot Sugar Band from Paris will be playing, and on Sunday, local favourites the Basin Street Brawlers.

As well as a packed schedule of dance competitions to watch, and the bands to enjoy, there is a vintage market with plenty of retro shopping to be done, a series of FREE lectures on the history of swing dancing and the business of swing, plus there are workshops and taster classes you can sign up for. All this in the beautiful 4-star Radisson Blu Edwardian Heathrow Hotel, near Heathrow Airport.
