David Sinclair Four + Ben Cipolla Band + Lorna Reid

David Sinclair Four joins forces with the seven-piece Ben Cipolla Band at the Half Moon, Putney on November 16, when both bands will be performing songs from their acclaimed new releases on the IRL label.

Since launching their album 4 at a packed show at the Borderline in May, the band led by singer, songwriter, journalist, raconteur and man-about-town David Sinclair have received plaudits from far and wide for their blues-laced brand of London rock’n’roll. Cashbox magazine called 4 “an album absolutely jam-packed full of catchy music, subtle lyrics and sheer pleasure.”

Meanwhile, the Ben Cipolla Band have been attracting similar notices for their Guest House EP, a seamless blend of jazz, soul and singer-songwriter smarts. Renowned for their incredible live presence, the Gloucester-based Cipolla band was judged Best Newcomer at the Marlborough Jazz Festival and have recorded a live session for BBC Introducing in the West.

Opening the show will be Scottish chanteuse and songwriter Lorna Reid, hot from her performances at the Edinburgh Fringe and Jazz and Blues Festival.

Two great bands, one amazing night and a whole lotta brilliant songs.

It all adds up.
