Award winning theatre company Les Enfants Terribles, present The LET Award Showcase for the fifth consecutive year. Ten talented shortlisted companies perform ten minute extracts from their shows in front of a panel of industry judges who will decide the 2016 winner at the end of the evening.

This unique opportunity returns to offer young theatre makers the sought-after opportunity of a slot at The Pleasance during the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. ‘The intention is to reward people for their artistic merit and ambition, putting the focus on the practical aptitude of creating theatre as opposed to the often long-winded administrative process of finding funding. We want to encourage an entrepreneurial attitude amongst young companies, empowering them to find innovative ways of creating top class theatre that will allow them to flourish in such a difficult financial climate.’ – Oliver Lansley, Artistic Director LesEnfants Terribles.

Les Enfants Terribles, the creators of hit shows such as ALICE’S ADVENTURE’S UNDERGROUND and THE TRENCH is a company who have secured their place as Edinburgh Fringe Festival favourites over the course of the last 14 years. Their reputation and success has allowed them to support many other companies and creative individuals over the years. Les Enfants Terribles seek to reward up and coming theatre makers with a desire to produce original work. As well as the guarantee of a slot at the Pleasance, the LET Award winner 2016 will also receive a cash injection of a £1000 into their show, plus support and mentoring from both Les Enfants Terribles and the Pleasance.

The deadline for submissions via the company website is Sunday 10th January 2016. Shortlisted companies will be notified by 24th January 2016.

Previous winners such as Fine Mess, New Diorama and Human Zoo have gone on to make a name for themselves in the industry. ‘The award allowed us to make a ripple… We couldn't have gone to EdFringe without it, we would not be in the position we are now in without this award’ – The Human Zoo, 2014 Award Winner.

‘It was a seal of approval that got us in the building.’ - Stan Hodgson, The Letter Room, 2014 Finalist.

‘It was a great experience and we got some wonderful reviews.’ – George Vere, 2015 Finalist.
