"Sealionwoman stage the Selkie folk tale of a shape shifting seal-human as a narrative concert of Scottish traditionals, and their own music. Performed with contrabass, vocals, and live sound-manipulation."

Vocalist Kitty Whitelaw and double bassist Tye McGivern present an intimate work that combines experimental music, traditional Scottish folk songs and physical movement. Transcending boundaries and conventional notions of theatre and concert, Selkie is a stark and powerful conceptual piece which is part fairy tale, part historical reality, and all visceral intensity.
