Singer / pianist Robin Phillips was an exciting introduction to the Crazy Coqs line-up in 2015 and is now a regular performer at our late night jazz nights. Emerging as one of the UK's leading jazz singer pianists, Robin Phillips' passionate performances are as informative as they are engaging and entertaining.

With Jay Darwish on upright bass and Alex Best on drums, this young and energetic trio definitely hark back to a golden age of jazz, but their arrangements have a distinctly modern edge.

Inspired by singer / instrumentalists such as Harry Connick Jr and Chet Baker, but also jazz vocalists such as Mark Murphy, Mel Torme and Jon Hendricks, Robin's current passion is unearthing the lost introductions ('verses') to many of the classic jazz standards.

At Crazy Coqs, the trio will be performing a collection of classic and not-so-well-known jazz standards, many re-arranged with a modern feel, including material from Robin's two previous albums and his upcoming recording project.
