NYJO is world-famous as a glittering showcase for the country’s best young musicians. Since its founding in 1965, most of the current generation of top British jazz musicians have risen through its ranks, often becoming established jazz stars whilst still playing with the band. Following on from NYJO’s 50th birthday celebrations last year this programme will feature established classics from the big band canon, contemporary work by leading international composers and originals by members of the band. Expect a night of burning swing and sensitive jazz art music from an ensemble at the leading-edge of the art form.
